Becoming a member
All Syrian scientists, experts and innovators living abroad are invited to join our network and to benefit from the services provided to members.
Membership Process & Steps
- Please fill in the Online Application Form or send an e-mail to with a short CV. The information you provide will be reviewed by the Board of Trustees according to NOSSTIA's Membership Criteria
- You are also requested to fill up the Membership Payment Form as per the Payment section and to send it in at the same time. The first annual membership fee will only be charged after the Board of Trustees has approved your application.
- You will receive an e-mail confirming your membership in NOSSTIA and be added to NOSSTIA's e-mail distribution list.
Membership Criteria
Membership in the network requires fulfilment of the following conditions:
- Syrian origin, and residing permanently abroad
- Considered a scientist, a technologist or an Innovator according to the standards set by the Board of Trustees and approved by the General Committee.
- Specialising in one of the domain scientific and business fields listed below.
- Approval of membership application by the board of trustees.
- Minimum of five years experience in the field of expertise.
The network can accept the membership of corporate companies and institutions, which contribute to financing the network activities with the Board of Trustees approval. Such memberships should nominate its representative to the network.
All Syrian scientists, technologist and specialists residing in Syria, and whoever carries the same status whether individuals or institutions, have the right to participate in the network scientific activities and work, and benefit from its services, and support it with their creative initiatives and contributions.
All business sectors and scientific entities are welcomed in the network, nevertheless NOSSTIA concentrates on the participating expatriates who are working in the domains of academic sciences, applicant sciences, and technology, economic and administrative sciences that benefit all sectors in the motherland.
- Sciences: basic, Engineering, Agriculture, Geology, Space, Environment, Economic, Finance, Management, Pharmaceutical, Human Resource.
- Technologies: Information and Communication, Biology, Renewable energy, new material, water resources management, Natural resources management.

Payment
As an NGO, we are required to be self funding. Membership dues are an important art of NOSSTIA’s direct funding mechanism.
We are looking for a higher participation rate through members and their donations to ensure the sustainability and growth of the network. Many projects, workshops, seminars, conferences, training and consulting services are being planned, organized and will be delivered by NOSSTIA members. Consequently, membership dues are extremely vital and an essential step to ensure the continued operations of our office in Damascus and allow us all to continue building bridges with the home land.

Your membership dues (and/or donations) could be paid by cash at the NOSSTIA office, by filling and faxing in a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) application form.
