Framework for Action
NOSSTIA has defined a framework for action in order to meet its objectives which is to be considered as the cornerstone of any future proposals and initiatives provided by its members.
The framework could be summarized as follows:
- Holding specialized conferences and seminars in Syria where Syrian expatriates can participate and contribute according to their skills and expertise as well as to acquaint themselves with national needs and help in contributing towards fulfilling these needs.
- Supporting individual expatriates to conduct projects, seminars and specialized training at national scientific institutes of similar background and interest.
- Establishing cooperation programs between the institutions that the Syrians expatriate specialists working at and their counterpart institutions in Syria. This can take the form of exchanging visits, lecturers providing training courses and research sabbaticals.
- Starting local projects in which Syrian expatriates could provide expertise and work alongside local resources
- Inviting Syrian specialists to join research programs and projects taking place in the advanced academic and research institutes of industrialized countries.
- Linking Syrian expatriates with each other to network and with their Syrian counterparts.
